reflection:digital was started in 2003 by Leslye James, a filmmaker and multimedia artist from Maryland. A writer since her youth, her love for film developed out of her poetry and fiction. Her interest in visual art has also led her into videoblogging and interactive video installation art. As a multimedia designer, she produces compelling visual messages and is passionate about using technology to enhance educational and artistic experiences. James studied film at Howard University and received a Master's in Multimedia from California State University, Hayward. She teaches classes in computer art, digital video production and web site design. Her work has been shown at the Women of Color Film Festival in Berkeley, CA, at exhibitions by the Film Arts Foundation in San Francisco, CA, at the DC Arts Center, in Washington, DC, AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, MD and throughout web. Currently, she is working on a number of film and media projects including a documentary on the website community Okayplayer.com. |
